Ingredients:
1 can evaporated milk
1 can condensed milk
7 egg yolks
1 tbsp. vanila extract
Sugar
What you need:
Steamer
Tongs
Lyanera
Strainer
Toothpick
Procedures:
1. Prepare your lyanera. Put 1 tbsp. sugar into the lyanera. Using your tongs, hold the lyanera and put it on the stove until sugar is caramelized. Heat the lyanera until sugar turns yellowish brown. Make sure you do not burn the sugar or else your flan will have a bitter taste.
2. Set aside the lyanera then proceed to preparing your batter.
3. Prepare the batter. Separate the egg white and the egg yolk.
4. Take your 7 egg yolks and put it in a strainer. Mix it well in a bowl after using the strainer.
5. Add in 1 can condensed milk, 1 can evaporated milk, 1 tbsp. vanilla extract.
6. Mix the batter well until no more bubbles form.
7. Pour the batter into the lyanera with caramelized sugar.
8. Put the lyanera with batter into the steamer and steam for 1 hour. (You may also cook it in an oven if you prefer to bake it)
9. Check if your leche flan is already cooked. Using a clean toothpick, stick it in and out to check. If the batter sticks on the toothpick, continue steaming for abother 30 minutes.
10. Once cooked, set aside the leche flan to cool down.
Leche flan is best served chilled. Put your leche flan into the fridge after it has cooled down.
To serve, turn the leche flan upside down on a plate. Enjoy! 🍮
